Overview

A Local Oscillator is a signal source that generates a stable sinusoidal frequency used to shift other RF signals up or down in frequency. It is a critical component in RF systems for frequency conversion and signal processing.

The RF Local Oscillator is a part of Processor Receiver LRU used in Ground Radar System as a form fit function. The RF Local Oscillator mainly consists of UHF Oscillator and X-Band Local Oscillator.

UHF Oscillator generates continuously after switch on the unit. X-Band Oscillator consists of 4 Synthesizers for generating 4 different frequencies. Out of four frequencies, any one frequency will be selected using SP4T switch.
